An Engineering Team from Stanford to Space

 Founded by an engineering team from Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, LUMIVATOR was born out of a shared vision for a sustainable, eco-friendly future. 





OUR DREAM

What inspired us to start LUMIVATOR?

 "It all started with a dream about space travel. I was fascinated by how we're planning to power life in space. It's not just about sourcing energy; it's about using it wisely. This led me to think about indoor light photovoltaics. Imagine turning every light inside a spacecraft into a power source for electronics. This concept, born from future space missions, is something we can apply right now on Earth. "

How does that apply to our daily lives?

 "Well, it's about looking beyond just generating renewable energy. We need to think about how we can use energy more efficiently. With LUMIVATOR, we're harnessing indoor light to power devices, reducing energy consumption without adding inconvenience. It's a step towards not only a more sustainable planet but also a more convenient life. From the cosmos to our living rooms, it's about maximizing the light around us. "
